Melissa Rivers appeared on KTLA 5 Morning News Show this past Tuesday, May 13, 2014, to discuss her E! network program, Fashion Police, as well as her support of Our House, the nationally renowned grief support center founded by Tears and Tequila co-author, Jo-Ann Lautman.

In the interview, Melissa explains her support of Our House and the work they do with kids and adults alike: “It’s extraordinary how these kids help each other heal, because they no longer feel alone, and different. [At grief support centers like Our House] you get to spend time with people where it’s OK to cry, where it’s OK to feel sad, it’s ok to feel angry. You’re not different. And when I lost my father, one of the big hurdles I had was feeling different.”

Speaking of Tears and Tequila, Melissa said, “At some point in our lives all of us will be forced to endure grief. Tears and Tequila eloquently and humorously portrays the agony that we must deal with to come to terms with the finality of death. There truly is a light at the end of the tunnel and this special book beautifully depicts this.”
